As an International Student studying in the UK you will likely be here on a Tier 4, or 'general' student Visa. A Tier 4 Visa allows you to study at any school, college or university which has been granted a Tier 4 (General) sponsor licence by the Home Office.
There may be certain conditions attached to your Tier 4 Visa, including a cap on how many hours a week you are allowed to work in a part time job. The maximum hours you can work during term-time are normally printed on your visa sticker or Biometric Residence Permit (BRP), and will depend mainly on when you made your most recent immigration application. See UKCISA's Guidelines herefor more information.
If you are planning on staying in the UK to study for longer, or if you wish to stay in the UK after your initial period of study has ended, you will need to apply for a Visa extension. There are certain financial requirements of extending your visa that is is important you are aware of.
